It's about time

Yes I have been a huge slacker! That is a big understatement since it has been well over a year since I have blogged. The past few months I have been feeling the need to get back into this for one reason or another; so here I go.
A lot has happened since I last posted. We sold our house in Carthage; moved to Platte City, Missouri; rented for a year; bought a house this year in Kansas City, Missouri; had a baby; Jenna started a preschool group and turned 3 and we are working lots!
We love where we are living and where we are in our lives.
I'll be better from this point on at posting about our sweet girls and our happenings!

Same Ol' Same Ol'

Not much has changed in the last month. . . well maybe my attitude has. We are still waiting for our house to sell so that we can all move to KC. The time will come when it is supposed to happen. The first six months of living apart was tough but we knew that it was going to happen. We signed up for that. These last two months is not what we signed up for so it makes it harder. I did not prepare myself for this. Matbe I should have but I didn't. I am now settling in to this routine and life is becoming easier. I still don't like it but I am handling it much better.

I do know that this experience has given me a new appreciation and understanding for military families. It must be so much harder on them. Also, I hope that I can be understanding and helpful towards someone else in this situation later in my life.

Jenna is seems to be handling it well. She just goes with the flow. She is pretty easy going....for the most part. As she is getting closer to 2 I am seeing it in her behavior. My sweet angel is now wearing horns part time to help her halo stay up. Iguess there has to be a balance. I will insert here that she is still VERY good in comparrison to other children. And she is actually VERY good when we are out. So it is mostly at home. I'm sure soem of her acting out has to do with our schedule and just having daddy gone. I just keep reminding myself that this is the easy time and it is only going to get more entertaining as she gets older. Billy has to help me to see the funny side to it all! :)

With that said I will add that Jenna is an amazing little girl. As her parents we think she is pretty smart. She loves to count, say her letters, and point out shapes and colors. There are lots of animals that catch her attention. It is so funny to hear her make animal noises. Jenna enjoys playing with her friends and she has a couple of them that she sees pretty regularly. On Sundays when she goes to nursery at church she will tell us who she played with and what they did. First thing she always tells me is snacks! She loves snack time. And then we hear about ashes (ring around the rosies) and knees (head, shoulders, knees and toes). I am so happy that she enjoys nursery now. I'm just worried how she will adjust when we move.

Here are a few pictures to enjoy of our little princess!

cRaZy SnOw!!!

I am in AWE with how much snow we got last week! We had 20 INCHES.....YEP THAT IS RIGHT TWENTY.....20 INCHES in our yard. And it ALL came in 1....ONE DAY!

We made snow ice cream. Jenna thought it was pretty cool.

Christmas 2010

This past Christmas was a lot of fun. We didn't do much, it was a pretty crazy time for us with other things going on in life. But Jenna had a lottle more understanding of what was happening. We had our family Christmas, watched movies all day then had dinner with some some friends (thanks friends)! It was perfect for us. Her smile makes me laugh!! She is so silly!

Still not a fan of Santa up close. Some day maybe she will be ok with him. Until then, we have crying pictures with Santa.....

This is Jenna's baby from Aunt Lalee (Carlee)!! The baby has been named Fergi. Daddy just wanted to hear Jenna say Fergi, and it stuck.

Our little tree. Not knowing what we were going to be doing at Christmas time (moving or not) I decided to just set up a small tree. It worked perfect. It was just Jenna's size and she was able to help set it up.

This is the best picture I got of her in her Christmas dress :( I may just have to dress her up in it to get a picture again haha
